The Process

The Brief
The design journey begins with a meeting on site or in your home; this first point of contact is without charge. We perform an initial site appraisal, examine your lifestyle requirements, the feasibility of the project and determine the parameters of the brief.
Our aim of this meeting is to understand your ideas, lifestyle requirements, taste, budget, timescale and specific requirements. We will look at any existing furniture that you wish to incorporate into the scheme and draw out and identify the style direction we believe is best for your home.
We will then write a detailed brief outlining the scope of works which is our interpretation of the project, with this we will send a fee proposal, a design contract and our terms and conditions for your perusal.

Initial Design Proposals : The Vision
After the brief and the fee and design terms have been agreed, we begin work on the implementation of brief. During this stage we will create the design direction, this can manifest in different ways structured according to the needs of the individual project. It will most likely involve moodboards with evocative images designed to indicate the ambience and style we are aiming to achieve. We will collate fabrics and gather them into colour stories and generate furniture and product boards.
We explore spatial arrangements for architectural layout and ergonomics for furniture placement. The design evolves from a thorough understanding of the fabric of the building, which will be articulated through floor plans, elevations and detailed sketches. If appropriate for the project and budget we will design and work with our extensive network of suppliers and skilled artisans to commission bespoke furniture, finishes and lighting.
By the end of this stage we will have refined the initial designs and agreed the design direction.

Design Development : The Strategy
This stage is the evolution of the concept into a specific, strategic plan. The design are developed into a full detailed working drawing package, running concurrently with decorative schemes.
At this stage CAD drawings and visualisation techniques are utilised to effectively communicate ideas to generate a cohesive strategy. We produce budget estimates, project scheduling, detailed designs and specifications and FF&E packages are provided to enable concise pricing and cost control.
It is at this stage that we can assist you with the tender process; we can prepare a package of our drawings, specifications and schedules, which can be used along with other supporting information to enable accurate tenders to be obtained.

Implementation & Co-ordination
This stage is the realisation of all of our preparation and planning, where the project comes to life.
Upon sign off for all designs, technical specifications and costings, we begin implementation of the design plan. We will facilitate the co-ordination of the orders, procurements, and commissions and provide a personal service to ensure careful quality control across every part of the project.
We will perform regular site visits during the renovation and/or installation period and with technical proficiency will oversee all aspects of the process in close collaboration with the other consultants. We will keep you updated with regular communication and detailed progress reports to give you peace of mind.
