Interior designer | London
Interior design shaped by architecture and the way you live.
Sarah Berry creates thoughtful, enduring homes in London and beyond. With a particular interest in architecture and materials, her approach is instinctive and informed by 23 years of working with interiors.
What makes a home feel right.
I’m interested in what makes a home feel right: the character of the building, the way the rooms connect, the quality of the light, and the things that matter to the people who live there.
Whether you need a fresh perspective on a single room, help making important decisions, or a complete design for your home, I bring experience, instinct and careful judgement to the process.
Interior design and consultancy
I work across a range of residential interiors, from focused advice on a particular room or design decision to the development of a whole house.
Sometimes a client needs another pair of eyes: help with a difficult layout, a colour scheme, materials, furniture or the decisions that come with a renovation. Sometimes they want someone to take a broader view, developing an interior from the bones of the house through to the furniture, lighting, art and objects that make it their own.
I also work with architects, designers and creative businesses where an interior perspective can contribute to a wider project.
My approach is instinctive but informed by 23 years of working with interiors. I’m interested in proportion, colour, materials and atmosphere, but also in the less tangible things that make a place feel right: what is kept, what is changed, what is gathered over time and how a home supports the people who live in it.
The scale of the work may change; the level of thought does not.
About Sarah
Sarah Berry Interior designer
I’ve spent 23 years working with interiors, 15 of them through my own residential practice. My work has taken me through private homes, hospitality and commercial spaces, as well as some remarkable design practices including Nina Campbell, Lees Associates and Christian Liaigre.
Alongside my practice, I lectured at KLC School of Design for several years. Teaching gave me another way of looking at my own work and made me more conscious of the decisions that shape a successful interior — from proportion and materials to the smaller details that can change an entire room.
I’m drawn to interiors with warmth, depth and a sense of history: old things alongside new, materials that develop character, and rooms that leave space for life to happen.
